Reuse & Recycling Pop-Up
March 2, 2024 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Join us for our first Reuse & Recycling Pop-Up of the year with our friends at the Chicago Waldorf School!
You’ll have an opportunity to:
- Drop off items for reuse, repurposing or recycling. Check out our list of accepted items.
- Drop off prescription medications (pills only) with the Cook County Sheriff’s Office
- Learn about mitigating food waste (and lowering your carbon footprint) with WasteNot Compost
- Explore ways to live more sustainably with goods from The Eco Flamingo
- Discover local and sustainable specialty cut flowers with Monarch Beauty Farm
- Learn about policy solutions to single-use plastics and how to get involved with Organizing for Plastics Alternatives
- Connect with issues that affect you with representatives from Ald. Vasquez’s 40th Ward Office
Before you leave home, check out our updated list of accepted items so your visit goes smoothly. There are several updates from past events, including many recycling programs that have been discontinued.
Also, keep checking back for updates to the event and our list. We’re chatting with organizations around the city and expect to add a few more items and organizations before the event.
Volunteer with us!
Help us divert materials from the landfill. You’ll spend a shift accepting, sorting and packing items (and meeting really cool people) — and you’ll end it knowing you made a difference.
Event access is through the main entrance of the school, off the playground on Foster Ave.
Located on the corner of Ashland and Foster, Chicago Waldorf School is easily accessible from the Clark (No. 22), Damen (No. 50) and Foster (No. 92) bus routes, and is a 10 minute walk from the Argyle Red Line stop.
