Reuse & Recycling Pop-Up
February 15, 2025 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Join us for our first Reuse & Recycling Pop-Up of the year with our friends at the Chicago Waldorf School!
You’ll have an opportunity to:
- Drop off common household items with for reuse, repurposing or reclamation, as well as ones that are difficult to recycle with:
- Us (Reduce Waste Chicago😉) Check out our list of accepted items for all organizations
- Flat Can Recycling, a specialty recycling company. Please note: Some accepted items are accepted for a fee.
- Cradles to Crayons, which will accept clothing of all sizes/ages/genders.
- Learn about composting services for your home, business, community or event with WasteNot Compost.
- Drop off clothing to be repaired with Nandi of BLISS JOY BULL. Items will be mended off-site and you can pick them up from Lilla Barn Clothing, 5535 N Clark St., about 2 weeks after the event. Please bring your items in a marked paper or cloth bag with your info attached. Payment is due at drop-off.
Before you leave home, check out our updated list of accepted items so your visit goes smoothly. There are several updates, including many recycling programs that have been discontinued.
Also, keep checking back for updates to the event and our list. We’re chatting with organizations around the city and expect to add a few more items and organizations before the event.
Volunteer with us!
Help us divert materials from the landfill. You’ll spend a shift accepting, sorting or packing items (and meeting really cool people) — and you’ll end it knowing you made a difference.
Event access is through the main entrance of the school, off the playground on Foster Ave.
Located on the corner of Ashland and Foster, Chicago Waldorf School is easily accessible from the Clark (No. 22), Damen (No. 50) and Foster (No. 92) bus routes, and is a 10 minute walk from the Argyle Red Line stop.
